Sonny Webster

Sonny Webster is 3 time British Senior champion in the 94kg weight category, at only 23 years old Sonny has Represented Team GB in all the major international championships, including World and European Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic Games. 

Sonny began weightlifting in 2005,  just 2 years later he made an early debut to the international stage at the European under 17 in Pavia, Italy after taking the British under 13 records and title that same year. It wasn't long before Sonny capitalised from his early international experience and took his first international medals in 2012.

Sonny won 3 medals in total from the commonwealth championships in South Africa that year one from each age group youth, junior and senior, this was followed up just a year later with winning the first ever European junior mens medal in the History of British weightlifting in Estonia's European u20 championships.  

After a successful year in 2016 defending his British senior title and placing 14th in his first Olympic Games, Sonny now has his sights firmly set on gold in next summer 2018 commonwealth games.
