Megan Lovegrove

Megan Lovegrove joined Reebok Crossfit Tyneside in 2014, already an established athlete on the national scene, with a great reputation of performing with bags of enthusiasm and an incredible ability.


When she landed in Tyneside she instantly bonded with the other athletes, her first workout was 14.5 and an incredible performance landed Megan a Regionals spot but also created a knee issue which meant she had to ultimately withdraw and undergo knee surgery.


Missing out on a Regional appearance was a crushing blow, but Megan put a smile on her face and supported her friends who had qualified as a team. A plan was put into place for a rapid recovery from knee surgery and strategy that would give her the best opportunity to be on that floor a year later.


The plan was set, she developed her head game and became a much more resilient athlete.


At the 2015 Regionals Megan qualified as an individual, true to her word Megan stood on the regionals floor side by side with her friends in team Reebok Crossfit Tyneside.


2016 was another set back with a hamstring tear coupled with studying for a Masters in Physiotherapy, the odds were against her, but she ignored the advice to skip 2016 and aim for 2017.


The hamstring tear resulted in four months of strict gymnastics and no lifting, this was a perfect preparation for 2016, with Strict Nate and a combination of other perfect workouts from CrossFit HQ.


Her incredible mindset, plus an ability to focus on her lane and being a fiercely loyal friend made 2016 an incredibly successful journey - Megan finished in 11th spot in the Meridian Regional.


Ups and Downs, Megan embraces the moment and rises to the challenge, supported by and supporting an incredible team of friends around her.
