Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson

I have always had a competitive nature, everything I do is done competitively.

As a child I grew up playing sports outside, everything from football to snowboarding.  I took up competitive gymnastics for 9 years and football (soccer) for 14 years, that the combination off football and gymnastics has given me a great base for CrossFit.

I made my first appearance at the Crossfit Games 2014 and that year I finished 26th.

In 2015 I was back again and finished on the podium and shocked the world with my performance.

In 2016, I won the Meridian Regionals and I showed up for my third straight Games in a row and finished in 8th.

Throughout my CrossFit career, I have continued to compete as an Olympic weightlifting and remain a member of the Icelandic national team. I have broken multiple Icelandic records in the -85 kg category.

I am super active and I am having a hard time relaxing even though I probably should sometimes. I live in such a beautiful country (Iceland) and I really enjoy being outside enjoying myself with friends and/or family.
